Kristan Higgins On (Not) Defending the Romance Genre

As a follow up to my post about defending the romance genre, I thought I’d post this column written for Publishers Weekly by Kristan Higgins. She makes an excellent point – as the best selling and most read genre, romance has nothing to prove to anyone. Authors and readers have no need to defend romance against those who have never read it but feel the need to criticize it and we should never apologize for what we read or write.

The whole piece is definitely worth a read.
